Updates finally. :)

That's it. Hereby I renew my vow on blogging at least once a week. I cant believe I abandoned my blog for a few months. When was the last time it was updated anyway?

My resolution is that, even if I have nothing to write, I will still find some subject to blog on. Anyway it is semester break currently. Went around shopping and purchased a few books from Borders.

One of them is A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Hawkins. It is Book One of the All Souls Trilogy, the story ravels the combination of mystery, magic and romance. To me, a book without bits of romance in it might appear a bit too dry. But this book might have focused a tiny bit too much on the romance, instead of the the mystery. Not that I am complaining, being a hearty fan of romance genre, but it might be a bit of a disappointment for those who seeks for adventure meshed with magic. The 722 page novels features on Diana Bishop, a witch who tries very hard to deny her heritage until she stumbled upon a long-lost magic manuscript. And there begins the adventure, and the romance blooms with a vampire who is not only rich, but also handsome and strong. Deja vu? Not to mention, Diana really could induce exasperation in me with her continuous denial. Eventually she becomes the damsel in distress, and alas, the vampire the knight in shining armor. Heh, yes, cliche alright. It wouldn't off it as a badly written book, I could engross myself in the book well enough to finish it, but I won't vote this as one of the best paranormal romance written.

On the other hand, i completed another book, Dark Lover, a vampire romance by J.R.Ward. It is also the first book of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. This book debuts on the leader for the Black Dagger Brotherhood, Wrath and the main female protagonist, Elizabeth who prefers to be called as Beth. I might be feeling a tad humorous when I was reading the book, but the other member of the Brotherhood truly amuse me. Their name is Rhage, Vishous, Zsadist, Torhment, Phury and a few others. These really tickled my funny bone, I mean, where did the author procure these names from? Oh my. Still, two thumbs up for the author when she manages to insert more entertaining bits of humor in some of the unexpected scenes.

headache, a nearly irresistible urge to commit murder, and an inferiority complex." - Wrath

Haha, i am particularly fond of this phrase alright.
